Soufflot EDP
An intensely seductive scent, full of depth, nutty sweetness and exquisite florals."
Upon reading Ernest Hemingway's 'The Sun Also Rises', perfumer Mathieu Nardin felt an urge to capture the aromatic essence of his morning stroll through Paris's Luxembourg Gardens.
"Soufflot is inspired by a passage of text in Ernest HemmingwayÕs, The Sun Also Rises. As with Scherzo and the whole Stories Collection, the short passage was the only thing given to the perfumer (Mathieu Nardin) as the brief for the fragrance to be created. The passage describes the main character rising from his bed and walking down Rue de Soufflot on a spring morning. The sun shines through the horse chestnut trees, flowers are brought up from the market and the air is filled with morning brioche, coffee and tobacco. A sense of awakening and awareness of the beauty in the everyday is captured in this short passage. When Mathieu Nardin read Òthe sun also risesÓ he immediately wanted to reproduce the olfactive memory he had of an early morning stroll at the Luxembourg garden in Paris."
"The enchantment of Paris on a Spring morning, bewitching the wearer with the suns first rays on horse chestnut trees, which filter through to the garden pathways of white blossoms.
Tobacco volutes from cafes on Rue de Soufflot as patrons enjoy their brioche, coffee and read the morning papers.
The gourmand floral heart is expertly blended with an intriguing combination of chestnut, hazelnut, green mandarin, honey, leather and UpCycled Orcanox.
